Poznan University of Technology Folk Dance Ensemble" Poligrodzianie "
during its 40 years of activity has visited 58 countries of the world , performed
twice for Pope John Paul II, was invited by the Presidents and Ministers
of many countries, including Malta, Israel, Malaysia, China, South Korea,
Ireland and Mexico, performed for the Mayor of New York City and the King of
Kota Kinabalu District. They presented the Polish culture to prisoners in the
U.S.A, on the Mongolian steppe, in the mountains of Nepal, Chile and Mexico,
frequently being not only the first Polish artists, but the first Poles at all in
these areas. The Ensemble recorded broadcasts for national televisions in
Sweden, Italy, Canada , Mexico, China and Serbia.
"Poligrodzianie" won a number of awards at home and abroad, including the
year 2012 the First Jury Prize in Malaysia and the first prize at the India Theatre
Olympiad in the category: Folk Dance. Members of the Ensemble were awarded
by the Minister of Culture as the "Ambassador of Polish Culture", they were
also honoured with a diploma of merit by the Marshal of the Wielkopolska
Voivodship, and as the first and only organizational unit of the University of
Technology, with a medal "Distinguished in Service for Poznan University of
Technology”. In the year 2013, in acknowledgement of their services, they
received a commemorative award of the Minister of Culture and National
Heritage. The Jubilee Gala Concert celebrating the 40th anniversary of the
Ensemble’s existence, which took place in the production hall of H. Cegielski -
Rail Vehicles Factory Ltd. on. 5 October 2013, win the award for the " The Best
Creative and Artistic Folk Art Performance in Europe 2013", awarded by the
European Folk Culture Organisation . Since the year 2014, the Ensemble has
been the " Culture Ambassador of Wielkopolska”.
